“We do not reinvent the wheel, but improve it every day”
With its headquarters in Härkingen (Switzerland), the RONAL GROUP is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of light alloy wheels for cars and commercial vehicles. The company is active on both the OEM and aftermarket for cars and commercial vehicles.
Each year, 13 production sites of the RONAL GROUP of companies on three continents can produce over 21 million wheels. We carry out all production steps ourselves, from the design to tool making and the final product. Our customers include all renowned car manufacturers.
In addition, we market an extensive range of aluminum alloy wheels for the aftermarket under our own brands. The RONAL brand impresses with its variety of designs, ranging from sporty through classic to ultra-modern. There is a close relationship between the exclusive products of our SPEEDLINE CORSE brand and successes in the field of motor sport. With the SPEEDLINE TRUCK brand, the Group also has a range of products for commercial vehicles, trailers and touring coaches, in both original equipment and aftermarket production.
What started as a local small business is now a global player
It was in 1969 that Karl Wirth GmbH (in Walldorf, Germany) began supplying the first light metal alloy wheels under the name of RONAL; a year later, the first plant was built, which specialized in the production of cast alloy wheels. Already in 1971 the company received its first order from a car manufacturer. As the decades passed, the RONAL GROUP grew, thanks to their loyal customers, and established themselves on the market with an increasing number of production locations in various countries.
About 8,000 employees currently work for the RONAL GROUP at several subsidiaries around the globe, in administration and production. Furthermore, the RONAL GROUP manufactures its own tools at two sites and has in RONLOG a central logistic center for its products. In late 2018, an innovation center – in the form of the newly founded RONAL TECHNOLOGIE GmbH – was established. Here, new technologies, materials and products of tomorrow are researched; solutions are developed with which the RONAL GROUP will be able to contribute towards shaping the mobility of the future.
Commitment to a sustainable future
In addition to keeping an eye on economic growth, the RONAL GROUP has for years been focusing on its responsibility for future generations with its PLANBLUE concept. We have set ourselves ambitious goals in the fields of action “Our Business”, “Our World”, and “Our People”. These relate to the topics “Sustainable and innovative products”, “Energy and climate”, and “Employee development, occupational health and safety” and are continuously tracked and evaluated.
One focus of our sustainability strategy is reducing our CO2 emissions, which we plan to halve by 2030. Therefore, after the launch of the RONAL R60-blue – our first wheel that has been produced according to sustainable aspects – we have presented the RONAL R70-blue, the first carbon neutral wheel worldwide. In the future as well, we want to set a good example in the area of sustainability and take responsibility for our actions.
