Härkingen/Switzerland, 2018/11/12 – The RONAL GROUP, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of light alloy wheels for passenger cars and commercial vehicles, founded RONAL Technologie GmbH on 12 October. The ground-breaking ceremony at the start of the construction of the new innovation center at the Forst site in Germany took place at the end of September.
The RONAL GROUP is consolidating its position as a leader in technology and innovation and is the first company in the sector to bundle all its research and development functions in an innovation center set up specifically for that purpose. RONAL Technologie GmbH will focus on special projects with a wide range of subjects. “We want to develop products and technologies that will allow us to help shape the mobility of tomorrow”, says Yvo Schnarrenberger, CEO of the RONAL GROUP. Areas in which research will be undertaken include the optimization of materials and product properties and the protection of resources with more efficient and new manufacturing technologies.
“The power to innovate is a crucial factor in the RONAL GROUP’s success and will ensure that the company remains competitive in the future and able to continue to meet all our customers’ requirements”, says Schnarrenberger about the foundation of the RONAL Technologie GmbH. The wheel manufacturer is aspiring to work closely with customers, suppliers, universities and the near-by Landau production facility.
The new building of the innovation center will consist of various project and conference rooms and office space spread over four floors, along with a flexible 1500m2 experimental facility, a lab as well as a metals and electronics workshop. The RONAL GROUP already maintains an administration building and, since 2016, the RONLOG logistics center in Forst.
It is planned to inaugurate and move into the new RONAL Technologie GmbH building at the end of 2019.
